16 Days of Activism For No Violence Against Women and Children
COOTALOO supports the 16 Days of Activism For No Violence Against Women and Children. The 16 Days are held each year from 25 December to 10 December. COOTALOO deplores all violence and abuse of women and children and calls upon all men to protect the rights of women and children. In many societies women and children do not enjoy rights, are punished, abused, enslaved and mutilated with the argument that these practices are for their safety and part of the culture of their societies. COOTALOO stresses that Universal Human Rights are to be enjoyed by all who live on earth and states who have signed the Charter of Universal Human Rights must ensure that all people living in their countries enjoy these rights. COOTALOO condems all wars and all violence aginst men. The causes of most wars do not justify the death and abuse of people as a consequence of war, the destruction of property, and the pychological effects of war on people. COOTALOO calls for an end to violent conflict and the implementation of meaningful programmes to this effect.
